Photo: SHS 16:1 Gears
These SHS 16:1 ratio gears have been used in several guns since I purchased them in September 2012 from Clandestine Airsoft. They have seen at least 15k rounds fired and still seem to be in good shape.

Quick fix #1 - V2 gearbox trigger spring
Symptoms: Safe and full auto fire modes work as they should. On semi-auto, the trigger sticks back after each shot and has to be manually pulled forwards. Pulling the trigger with the battery disconnected does not replicate the problem.
Diagnosis: Trigger return spring is broken. This is the spring that sits underneath the trigger in the V2 gearbox. On full auto, the trigger switch trolley returns the trigger to the forward position. However on semi it relies on this spring, which I found had snapped when I opened the gearbox:

Testing, testing...
Here's a demo post while I figure this thing out. I'm Matt, I like to play airsoft and build custom guns/fix them when they break. I got sick of posting all this stuff on Facebook, looks like this will be my airsoft blog from now on. Most posts will pertain to tech work I do for my friends and my personal projects, but you'll also see game footage and photos and the like here.
Here's a photo of me (dead guy on the right) at my first big milsim op "Lion Claws XI" last year. My buddy Tyler got me into airsofting about a year ago and I was really lucky to attend this event with him.
That's all for now.
